The poaching of endangered animals

Many animals become endangered or extinct because of poachers. Some animals that are being poached are elephants for their tusks, tigers for their hide to trade, gorillas, snow leopards, rhinos and many more. Mostly people poach animals for money and don't car that they endangered only that they will be getting money for it. If someone is caught with a dead endangered animal or poaching an endangered animal they could get a sentence for a minimum of one year to a maximum of five years in jail and probably a large fine. There are many people who poach because they want the money and don't care that they are killing an endangered animal.

Extinct animals

There are quite a few animals that have gone extinct. Some of them went extinct with the dinosaurs, for some it's been awhile since anyone has seen them and some have just recently gone extinct. A few mammals that have gone extinct are cuban spider monkey, bulldog rat, canary mouse, desert bandicoot, dark flying fox and many more. There are many extinct birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish and plants. The lists go on and on forever everyone needs to make a commitment to the earth and animals helping keeping the animals and plants live longer.

Bald Eagles

The killing of bald eagles started in the seventeenth century in Alaska, by the early twentyith century the endangered species act came about because to many eagles and other animals were dying. Finally more actions were taken against other things that were theretening the birds and they slowly started making a comeback. Bald eagles went from being on the endangered list to being on the theretened list. Now they are getting closer to being taken off the endangered list all together, which is very amazing. Hopefully more and more endangered species will be able to make that same transition.

Not everyone cares about endangered species. They would rather be selfish and just keep using things that harm the earth causing global warming. I think the only reason that they don't care is because they don't realize that even though they are getting away with things now and those things make life easier, using those things will permenatly effect the earth in the future, including humans and how we live . I realize that it would be hard to give up certain things but everyone should try and put forth a big effort in making the world a better place and saving it and every thing living here. I hope that everyone could learn a lesson with everything that global warming has already done to the planet and is also effecting everything else on the planet. Everyone can help just taking simple steps in stoping global warming.

Umbrella species

All animals deserve to be protected and saved from extinction. Some need a little more attention because when they are saved then the other animals in that habitat will be protected. They are called umbrella species. Only a few animals are known as umbrella species, not all species are umbrella species.according to the wwf website there are animals known as umbrella species and protecting them protects many other species in the same habitat. In other words it is very critical to save these animals in order to keep other animals safe that live in the same habitat. Some umbrella animals are giant pandas, tigers, whales and dolphins, rhinos, elephants, marine turtles and great apes. Umbrella species don't always work sometimes the umbrella animal will be in trouble and on of the animals that is being protected will be ok because they eat different kind of foods but they share the habitat that they need. Therefore we should consider protecting the habitat as a whole and not to a certain species needs. We should look at the needs of all the species.

Manatees

One of my favorite animals are manatees and they are endangered. Manatees are endangered because boats and water crafts collide with them causing them to instantly die or to slowly die. They are also dieing because of the loss of warm water and their habitats being destroyed. Humans also contribute to their death when they get caught in fishing nets, fishing hooks and the litter that people throw into the water. Manatees are very beautiful animals and its a shame that they are endangered. Truthfully its a shame that any animals become endangered, but I guess that not everything can be around forever. I just think that we should try to change certain things we do to keep them around as long as we can. They shouldn't have to die because of the mistakes that we make. They are innocent animals and they can't speak for themselves that is why there are organizations that are trying to help keep them from going extinct.

Helping the world and its animals

Endangered species and global warming go hand in hand. Polar bears are becoming endangered because of the climate change causing the ice to melt therefore making it hard for them to hunt for food and it is effecting them reproducing. Resulting in fewer polar bears which means that extinction is possibly in the future for the polar bears. Polar bears are not the only animals that are being effected by global warming. One of them is coral reef and not just one species of coral they are all effected. There are people who depend on coral reef to be there because its one of their sources of food they depend on. So if coral reef goes extinct then not only will it hurt the fish population but also the human population. Another are the american pikas they are found in the rockies and because of global warming they have a difficult time finding food in the winter time it also effects their habitat. If everyone took just a few steps to help slow global warming then we could help these poor little animals. For example you could recycle, switch to energy efficient light bulbs, if its close enough to walk then walk don't drive, and when your done with your computer at night shut it down there is no reason for it to be on any way. These are just a few that will help that the worldwildlife website suggests you to do. Hopefully you will help I know I will. :]

Saving Endangered Species

I think that it is very important to save endangered species, when a species becomes extinct it has more of an effect of that it is not here any more it effects the ecosystem. This causes everything to be effected. Once an animal disappears the animal that ate that one has nothing to eat any more causing it to die off and then the domino effect happens leaving very few species left on the plant and that would be a disaster. Because one day there wont be anything but processed foods, fruits and vegetables to eat that could get boring. Saving endangered species also means saving the earth and stop global warming. Everyone could help if they would just change a few things that they do that contribute to global warming.
